In 1962, the Mackle Brothers purchased more than 17,000 acres and created Deltona Lakes, one of Florida’s largest planned residential communities. Thousands of families moved here looking for affordable homes and the Florida lifestyle. The city officially incorporated as Deltona in 1995.
Today, Deltona has become the largest city in Volusia County, sitting almost perfectly between Daytona Beach and Orlando.
