Replacing your A/C is expensive.
So before we start talking about SEER2 ratings, inverter compressors, variable-speed blowers and whatever other acronym somebody put on a brochure, let’s answer the important question:
Does your A/C actually need to be replaced?
If it does, we’ll help you figure out what makes sense for your house, your comfort and your budget.
If it doesn’t?
We’ll tell you that too.
Because our job isn’t to sell you the most expensive box we can fit through your garage door. It’s to put the right system in your house—and install the thing correctly.
Maybe he’s right.
If your system is genuinely at the end of its life, we’ll tell you. But “it’s old,” “it uses R-410A,” or “this repair is expensive” doesn’t automatically mean you need to replace your air conditioner.
And before you spend $8,000, $10,000 or $15,000 on a new system, getting another set of eyes on it seems pretty reasonable.
We’ll look at the system, review what you were told, take our own measurements and give you our opinion.
If we agree that replacement makes sense, we’ll explain why.
If we think it can reasonably be repaired, we’ll tell you that too.
And if the first guy was completely right?
We’ll tell you that too. He earned it. 😂
There is no magic age when your air conditioner suddenly becomes too old to repair.

A 12-year-old system with a failed capacitor probably doesn’t need to be thrown in a dumpster.
A 7-year-old system with a failed compressor, leaking coil and a questionable installation might deserve a very different conversation.
Age matters. But so does everything else.
When we’re helping you decide whether to repair or replace, we’re looking at things like:
What actually failed?
A $300 repair and a $3,000 repair are very different decisions.
What condition is the rest of the system in?
We’re not just looking at today’s broken part. Coils, compressor, corrosion, airflow, electrical components and the overall condition of the equipment matter too.
Has this thing become a frequent flyer?
One repair doesn’t make an A/C unreliable. Five service calls in two summers might change the math.
What refrigerant does it use?
That matters—but R-410A does not mean your system is obsolete, and an R-22 system isn’t automatically illegal or impossible to repair either.
How well does it actually cool your house?
If the system keeps the house comfortable, controls humidity reasonably well and isn’t constantly breaking, replacing it solely because something newer is more efficient may take a very long time to pay for itself.
And most importantly: What do YOU want to do?
Some homeowners would rather repair a system and squeeze another few years out of it.
Others are done putting money into an aging A/C and would rather replace it before the next failure.
Both can be reasonable decisions.
Our job is to give you enough information to make yours.
We don’t replace an A/C because it’s old.
We replace it when the condition of the equipment, cost of the repair, reliability, comfort—or simply the homeowner’s preference—makes replacement the better choice.
And sometimes?
Fix the damn thing and keep your money. 😂
A new A/C installation is a little more involved than:
Old box out. New box in. Collect check. Go home. 😂
There’s equipment matching, electrical, refrigerant piping, drainage, airflow, evacuation, charging, startup, testing and a whole bunch of little details that determine whether your brand-new system actually performs like the manufacturer intended.

Alright. We checked.
The old system has fought the good fight, the numbers make sense, and yes—you actually need a new A/C.
Now comes the fun part:
Which one?
Because shopping for an air conditioner gets ridiculous pretty quickly.
14.3 SEER2. 15.2 SEER2. Heat pump. Straight cool. Single-stage. Two-stage. Variable-speed. Inverter. Communicating. Non-communicating.
At some point you’re just nodding politely while somebody explains compressor technology and wondering:
“Okay…but which one should I put in my house?”
That’s the question we care about.
Before we talk equipment, we need to know what we’re asking it to do.
How large is the home? How is the ductwork? How much return air does the system have? Where is the equipment installed? How much sun does the house get? How well is it insulated? Are there humidity problems? Are there rooms that have always been uncomfortable?
And no, your neighbor having a 4-ton doesn’t mean you need a 4-ton.
Your neighbor also has a boat he hasn’t used since 2022. We’re not making HVAC decisions based on him. 😂
Both can cool your house.
The difference is primarily how they provide heat.
A heat pump can reverse the refrigeration cycle and use the outdoor unit to heat the home. A straight-cool system only provides mechanical cooling and typically relies on electric resistance heat for heating.
In Florida, that’s a legitimate decision—not an automatic “heat pump is always better.”

This is where the price spread can get substantial.
A traditional single-stage system is basically on or off. Simple, proven and perfectly capable of cooling a house when it’s properly sized and installed.
A two-stage system can operate at a lower capacity when the house doesn’t need everything it’s got, then ramp up when the load increases.
An inverter system can adjust its output across a much wider range instead of repeatedly going from zero to full blast.
That can mean quieter operation, longer run times, better temperature consistency and potentially better humidity control.
Does everybody need an inverter?
Nope.
Can they be fantastic in the right application?
Absolutely.

Higher efficiency can reduce energy consumption.
That does not automatically mean the most efficient system is the smartest financial decision.
If moving from one efficiency level to another costs thousands more, we should have an honest conversation about what you’re actually getting for that money.
Sometimes the upgrade makes sense because of comfort, noise, humidity control or features—not simply because somebody calculated an imaginary electric bill savings on a sales brochure.
You can buy a spectacular new air conditioner and connect it to terrible ductwork.
Congratulations.
You now have a spectacular air conditioner with terrible airflow. 😂
Before we install equipment, we’re looking at whether the existing duct system can actually support it.
That doesn’t mean every replacement needs new ducts.
It means we shouldn’t ignore an obvious airflow problem and expect a shiny new condenser to somehow fix it.
We’re not going to tell you the logo on the cabinet doesn’t matter at all.
Equipment quality, parts availability, warranty support and application absolutely matter.
But a premium system installed poorly can be a nightmare.
A properly selected system needs to be properly installed, evacuated, charged, drained, wired, configured and tested.
That’s why we’re considerably more interested in getting the whole system right than selling you whichever equipment has the fanciest brochure this month.
There isn’t one “best A/C.”
There’s a best fit for your house, your priorities and your budget.
Maybe that’s a straightforward single-stage system.
Maybe you want the comfort of two-stage equipment.
Maybe an inverter makes perfect sense.
We’ll explain the differences, show you what each option costs and tell you what you’re actually getting for the extra money.
Then you choose.
No mystery package names. No good/better/best shell game. Just actual equipment and actual prices.
This is usually the part where HVAC websites get a little mysterious.
“Call for pricing.”
“Schedule your free consultation.”
“Systems starting at just $___ per month!”
Cool.
But how much is the air conditioner? 😂
We don’t think A/C replacement pricing needs to be a state secret.
The exact cost depends on the equipment, efficiency, size, installation requirements and whether anything else actually needs to be changed. A straightforward replacement and an installation requiring ductwork, electrical work or other modifications obviously aren’t the same job.
But you should still be able to get a pretty good idea of what this stuff costs before somebody is sitting at your kitchen table with a financing application.

A new A/C is a big purchase, and not everybody has $10,000 sitting around waiting for the condenser to die.
We offer financing options for qualified homeowners so you can look at the actual cost of the system and what the payment options look like.
We’re still going to show you the real price first.
Because “only $189 a month!” isn’t particularly useful if nobody tells you what you’re actually buying, how much it costs, or how long you’re paying for it.
There are plenty of ways to make a new A/C installation more expensive.
Some of them are absolutely worth it.
Some of them are useful in the right house.
And some of them?
You probably don’t need that.

Bigger isn’t better.
An oversized system can cool the house quickly while doing a lousy job removing humidity, short-cycle more often and create comfort problems you didn’t have before.
We size equipment for the house.
Not for bragging rights.
Higher efficiency is great.
But if you’re spending thousands of additional dollars to save an amount of electricity that may take forever to recover, we’re going to tell you.
Sometimes the higher-end system makes sense because you want better comfort, quieter operation, longer run times or better humidity control.
Those are real benefits.
Imaginary payback math isn’t.
We like inverter systems.
We install inverter systems.
We also install traditional equipment.
An inverter can be an excellent choice, but your house will not burst into flames from embarrassment if you buy a single-stage A/C. 😂
If your ducts are properly sized, in good condition and doing their job:
Leave them alone.
If we find an airflow problem, damaged ductwork, sweating ducts or something that actually needs attention, we’ll show you.
A new system does not automatically require a new duct system.
New refrigerant doesn’t automatically mean:
TEAR OUT ALL THE COPPER.
The existing refrigerant lines may be reusable depending on their size, condition, application and the equipment manufacturer’s requirements.
We’ll inspect what you have and follow the requirements for the equipment we’re installing.
UV lights, better filtration and other indoor-air-quality products can be useful.
We sell some of them.
But we’re not going to stand in your air-handler closet, point dramatically at something and inform you that your family has been breathing DEATH AIR for the last seven years. 😂
If there’s an actual indoor-air-quality concern, we’ll talk about it.
No.
The refrigerant transition affects new equipment manufacturing and installation.
It did not magically condemn every existing R-410A system in Florida.
If your R-410A system is working and otherwise worth keeping:
Keep the damn thing.
We’ll absolutely show you upgrades when we think they provide real value.
But we’re not interested in turning a straightforward A/C replacement into:
